Girls Basketball Trip

Here is a picture of the girls in Las Vegas. The team played two games and experienced victories in both. The first game was played against Faith Lutheran in Las Vegas. The lady Lions then traveled to Phoenix to play Arizona Lutheran Academy. They have a mid-season mark of 10-0!

The second semester is off to a quick start. We have 5 new transfer students joining the LHSP family!

Please plan on attending a Growing In Him Tour. This is a great way to come and see the school. You will have an opportunity to sit down and talk with Mr. Ness (principal) and some of the students here at LHS-P.

This is a great time to come visit the campus. Just call to set up a time to shadow or come to one of our events at LHS-P! With the musical coming up this weekend, Volleyball playing in state, and winter sports around the corner, there is plenty of exciting action to be a part of!

This Thursday we will have all 5th/6th graders on campus for a luncheon theater! Lunch will be provided. "I only have Fangs for you," will be put on by the LHS-P drama department. Should be a fun time- contact me if you want to attend!

School is of to a great start at LHSP. The fall sports season is underway and off to a successful start. Football has experienced early success along with golf and cross country!

If you are a prospective student and want to shadow a student for a day or take a tour please contact me. There are many events coming up for you to attend. School is Starting!

You can tell that school is right around the corner with the all the buzz and excitement in the air. As new students enter the school tomorrow with nervous excitement, the family at LHSP will be there to comfort and guide them. There will be new friendships made and old ones refreshed. We are confident the right students have joined the LHSP family and they will continue to be a vibrant ministry on campus.

All new students and their families are invited and encouraged to join us in our annual LHSP Luau on Sunday, August 15th starting at 5:30pm. We will eat dinner, play games, meet new classmates, go over dress code, etc. We will also be going through our schedules to find out where all of our classrooms will be for the first day of school. There will be an ice cream social with our new principal, David Ness, at 7 pm as well. HOPE TO SEE YOU THERE!

Algebra Test Dates...

If you are hoping to take Geometry next year, there is an Algebra test that you will need to take here at LHSP. If you pass the test, you will get credit for Algebra on your high school transcript. Our next test is Thursday, May 13th at 4:00-5:30pm and also next Thursday, May 20th at 4:00-5:30pm.

Join us on Monday, April 12th at 6:30pm for "Registration Night". We will be choosing classes for next year, going over some important information, and doing a "meet and greet" with LHSP coaches and teachers. You will be able to turn in all of your paperwork that night as well.

Registration Night is scheduled for Monday, April 12th at 6:30pm. We will be discussing student schedules, turning in admissions papers, "meet and greet" with LHSP teachers, coaches, and other families in the Class of 2014.

Scholarship Drawing Rescheduled...

The drawing for a full 4-year scholarship has been moved back a couple of days to Monday, March 15th. We will be drawing the lucky winner in front of the LHSP student body during chapel.

Reminder: If your name is not drawn, you are still able to apply for tuition assistance. If LHSP is where you want to be...we will do everything that we can to help make that happen.

Shadow Date Changed...Placement Test Reminder

We changed the Tuesday, February 9th "Shadow Date" to Friday, February 5th. We already have a few signed up and would love to have you join us!

Also, a reminder that there is a placement test scheduled for Saturday, January 30th. The test is $20 and goes from at 8:00-11:00am. To reserve your seat, call 303-841-5551.

We have a few big admissions dates coming up...
*Friday, January 8th is a SHADOW DAY. Interested students are invited to come and follow an LHSP student for a half or whole day.
*Tuesday, January 12th is an OPEN HOUSE from 3:00-6:00pm. You are also invited to stay and join us for our home basketball games vs. Legend.
*Saturday, January 30th is a PLACEMENT TEST for incoming freshmen. This is not an entrance exam. It is used for placement into their classes for their freshman year. The test is $20. Please RSVP at 303-841-5551.

We have rescheduled our "Parent to Parent Information/Youth Day" to Sunday, December 6th at 2:00pm. This is a great opportunity to hear from LHSP parents and students as to why they love Lutheran High School Parker. Families with 6th-8th graders are encouraged to come. The youth will be hanging out in the gym playing games while the parents will be meeting upstairs in the flex room. Hope to see you there!

Youth Night/ Parent to Parent Information Night

LHSP will be hosting "Youth Night and Parent to Parent Information Night" Sunday, November 15th at 6:30pm. We will start off the night with some praise and worship lead by our LHSP Worship Team. After that we will break up into two groups. The youth will head down to the gym for some games and scavenger hunt. The parents will have the opportunity to learn more about Lutheran High School from other LHSP parents and students. We hope to see you there! For more information please feel free to contact me.

Trick or Treat on LHSP Street

The first, annual "Trick or Treat on Lutheran High School Parker Street" was a huge success this year. We welcomed over 200 little ones and their parents as they traveled around the halls of LHSP to collect all sorts of good stuff. We were excited to have so many new faces on our campus. A little four year old said, "I can't wait to go to high school here one day!" Unfortunately, I think he thinks that we get to eat candy and cookies and dress up in costumes everyday.

Preseason for fall sports, homework for Calculus, packing your backpack, decorating your locker....is it really that time? It is exciting to see so many new faces here at LHSP and just as exciting to see some familiar ones as well. Admissions to Lutheran Parker is already starting for next year. ATTENTION 8TH GRADERS: It is that time to start getting ready for high school. I am excited to meet all of the new students in the CLASS OF 2013. Here at LHSP, we require all incoming freshmen to take the placement test. We have just added a new date to take the test on Thursday, April 2nd from 3:30pm-6:30pm. Supper will also be included. The other date that we have set is for Saturday, February 21st from 8:00-11:00am. Please call the front office at 303-841-5551 to reserve your seat. The cost of the test is $20. Please know that this is not an entrance exam. It is primarily used to place you into the appropriate classes for next year. We also take into strong consideration your teacher recommendation letters. If either of these dates do not work, please call and we can discuss another option. Enjoy the rest of your 8th grade year!!

5th and 6th Grade Theater Luncheon

We want to welcome 5th and 6th Graders to our "Theater Luncheon" on November 13th from 12:00-2:30. The drama department here at LHSP will be presenting Waiting for Lefty. The play is based on a meeting of New York cab drivers planning to go on strike in 1935. It will be a fun day for the 5th and 6th graders to enjoy pizza with other students and possibly learn a little bit of history about the American-Stage Theater. First Day of School...

We have officially started our 2008-2009 school year. Our theme for this year is "Living by Faith" and is based on 2 Corinthians 5:7, "We live by faith, not by sight." It is our goal to share the love of Jesus Christ with our students everyday and to teach them to fully trust in HIM. Life has its ups and downs and through them all, it is important for us to focus on God, knowing that He will provide all that we need each day. I am excited to see what He has in store for our schools throughout this year.
